Re-Map Readings

A reminder about Re-Map Bible reading:

  1. Read the Bible passage – then re-read! Maybe read in a different version the second time.
  2. Meditate on the verses you have read – think about and chew over the passage. Quieten your heart and listen to the Holy Spirit. What is He speaking to you about God your Father, What is He saying through this passage about Jesus or the Holy Spirit? What does He say about YOU and your relationship to God? What promises does He give you? Any commands or helpful admonition for you? Writing down or recording what you learn is really helpful. Write out a verse or phrase which has particular meaning for you to think over during the day. (It may be a good idea to get this far before reading the notes, so as to hear what God is saying personally to you.)
  3. Apply what you have learnt to your life today, receiving God’s love and acceptance as you go forward with Him. Maybe there will be a quality decision to make about some area of your life. Maybe you need to reaffirm your trust in Jesus and His care for you, or allow Father to comfort and strengthen you.
  4. Pray and PraisePray through what the Hoy Spirit has shown you, and praise God for Who He is and what He has revealed to you about Himself and about how much He loves you! Ask Him to help you as you go forward today.

    Confessing God's Word     DAY 1

Hebrews 13: 1-8 New King James version.

Let brotherly love continue. 2 Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels. 3 Remember the prisoners as if chained with them—those who are mistreated—since you yourselves are in the body also.
4 Marriage is honourable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.5 Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have.        For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor  forsake you.”6 So we may boldly say:
The Lord is my helper;
I will not fear.
What can man do to me?”

7 Remember those who rule over you, who have spoken the word of God to you, whose faith follow, considering the outcome of their conduct. (The Message version puts it like this: “Appreciate your pastoral leaders who gave you the Word of God. Take a good look at the way they live, and let their faithfulness instruct you, as well as their truthfulness.” )
8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Notes: This passage, set in the midst of practical instructions about living, brings us a huge truth about speaking God’s Word. Look at verse 5:For He Himself has said ….” and then verse 6: So we may boldly say …..” Just think about that for a minute. When God says something in His Word – then, as His redeemed children, with authority in Christ, WE can boldly say, “The Lord is MY Helper” or whatever it is. We will spend the next few days exploring this truth. Notice too how we should remember thankfully and pay attention to those who have spoken the Word into our lives! Today let us take that last verse and shout out: “Jesus, Who healed the sick and set the captives free, is the same today, tomorrow and forever! Hallelujah!” This same Jesus can bring the answers to my problems and work miracles in my life! He is always with Me and ready to help me!
